with a hysterical application of the same principle but modernized it for the 21st

Effect: The magician explains that he just found a company that offers magic
that is so simple that you can both learn it and perform it at the same time. He
brought his first product with him to show the audience how easy it is to do
magic. He opens the box and pulls out the enclosed CD, places it in his CD
player and hilarity ensues...
"Thank you for purchasing our 'ACME Insta-Magician Learn it While You Earn it'
new line of quality magic. We would like to present 'The Vanishing Shell Foam!'
Enclosed you will find a handkerchief and your Shell Foam." The magician looks
inside the box and finds a handkerchief and a cell phone!. The magician shows
there is nothing else inside the box. With a confused look on his face our hero
valiantly, yet hesitantly follows the narrator's instructions dunking the phone in
water, destroying the phone by smashing it repeatedly and then vanishing it
completely.
Finally the narrator explains that "In case the performer has any questions about
how to perform this amazing piece of magic he should use the enclosed Cell
Phone to call them!" The magician looks in what was an empty box and finds the
"Shell Foam" (Sponge Seashell) that the narrator was talking about the entire
time. The magician dips it in water, wrings it out and wipes his forehead with it
after realizing his COSTLY mistake!
